New announcement from AIAARG -

Our next action in Tokyo after coming back from Okinawa is the 18th AI Art and Aesthetics Research Meeting "AI-Aesthetics-Music," where we focus on the four series of "AI Art and Aesthetics Concert," all performed in November, 2017, as part of AI Art and Aesthetics Exhibition at OIST. After showing the video documents of these concerts on a large screen, we discuss the latest situation of AI-composition with the program organizers and participating composers.

* The event also presents the eight-meter long "Chronological Table of Artificial Intelligence Art and Aesthetics."

[Overrview]

Will AI even invade the creation of art? Will AI have aesthetic consciousness and autonomously start creating art in future?

These question formed the core of "Artificial Intelligence Art and Aesthetics Exhibition," the exhibition held at OIST from 3 November, 2017, to 8 January, 2018, with the support of Goethe-Institut. From the present-day contexts, the genre-less composition of the exhibition explores the subject of AI's potentials for autonomous artistic creation, with artists and researchers from different countries demonstrating the latest insights of the theme.

This research meeting focuses on the four series of "Artificial Intelligence Art and Aesthetics Concert," all performed in November, 2017, as part of AI Art and Aesthetics Exhibition at OIST. Showing the video documents of these concerts on a large screen, we explore different approaches to probe the interplay of human and machine in the field of musical composition.

The panel discussion will invite four composers: Masahiro Miwa, Kiyoshi Furukawa, Hirokazu Hiraishi, and Tsubasa Tanaka, and Hideki Nakazawa from the research group.
